GEO Winter Camp Facilities (Part 4)

During the 2nd GEO Winter Camp from January to February 2010, the Press Club conducted a small survey among the GEO students. There were five (5) survey questions asked. We will talk about these one by one.

Question: Which of the GEO Winter Camp facilities do you most enjoy using?

Answer: Conference Room (9 responses or 3 percent of the total responses)
Answer: Global Lounge (236 responses or 77 percent of the total responses)
Answer: Gym (54 responses or 18 percent of the total responses)
Answer: Listening Lab (5 responses or 2 percent of the total responses)

The fourth most popular facility for students in the 2nd GEO Winter Camp was the Listening Lab. It is located on the second (2nd) floor of the International Hub (IH) Building in CUK's Songsim Campus. There are two Listening Labs in the IH Building: the main lab which seats around 60 students and the smaller lab which can host about 30 students.

The Listening Lab is equipped with modern equipment that allows for the main computer to feed audio and/or video materials into the rest of the computer terminals. Each terminal has a headset that allows the student to listen to audio/video material or to the professor's instructions. The students can also use the headsets to communicate with other students in the room. Control features in the main terminal allows the professor to monitor any student's work or all of the computer terminals at the same time. The main computer can also freeze the other computers or select one terminal to serve as a "model" for the others to see.

The Listening Lab is a fantastic facility that allows for an organized and efficient means of teaching language or any other course for that matter. See photos below.
