On May 18, 2010 the Global English Outreach (GEO) program hosted the GEO Fair as part of the Catholic University of Korea's annual Students' Fair. The GEO Fair was held at the International Hub Building's gymnasium and lasted from three o'clock in the afternoon to six o'clock in the evening.
The fair was the last of three "Social Activities" that GEO organized to facilitate an informal and fun real-world application of the students' English language skills. The first social activity involved sports and recreation, while the second was the hosting of a wine-and-cheese party (see http://geocuk.blogspot.com/2010/05/wine-and-cheese-party-geo-style.html).
This fair was put together by the hardworking professors of GEO, with the able support provided by their Teaching Assistants (TAs), who put together various kinds of fun activity booths (see below). Each GEO student had to register at a desk on the gymnasium entrance to secure a signature card. Each card contains 10 signature boxes. Once they get their signature cards, the GEO students can line up in as many activity booths as they want to win some fun prizes. After completing a game in any booth, the GEO student gets two signatures on his/her card and some prizes, if he/she is skilled or lucky enough. The object of the activity is to complete all 10 signature boxes, accumulate as much prizes as possible and have loads of fun.
