Let's travel around the world!!!

One humid Tuesday (July 20) afternoon, GEO students gathered at the Global Lounge and prepared themselves for an amazing race around the world!

FIRST TASK:  Each team was given a blank map of the campus.  It was their first task to locate all the countries (manned by TAs) and pin point them on their blank map within 20 minutes.

Where is South America???
Then the real challenge begins...

Upon finishing their first task, the host gives them their very first mission that sends them off to another country.  When they reach their designated country, they would then ask for another mission card from the TAs.  However, there's a catch!  TAs give them various challenges to earn their mission cards.  Song and dance presentations, spelling quiz, face painting, tongue twisters, word games...you name it!  The TAs would surely make the game more challenging as the students go along their way.  Of course, with yellow warning cards ready to be given away, students were definitely encouraged to speak English while discussing their strategies.

Kyung Min supervising Seong Jin's face painting to achieve their goal (making Byoung Soo laugh)!

Team Canada's finished product!

Team Australia's creative creation...

Surely, you'll laugh on this one!

Looks like Team Ireland has outdone themselves ^_^

After 5 disqualified teams due to some confusion, Canada emerged as the first team who successfully completed all the missions and brought back the right amount and kind of money to the host.  Ireland came in second; New Zealand - third; Australia - fourth; and finally USA came in last.

The Amazing Race is a game that requires critical thinking and common sense.  The students' ability to comprehend and understand instructions are put to the test and have fun at the same time!
