Lasting Memories: Games that everyone enjoyed!

We were really excited about learning English a week ago, but learning a new language was not easy for us. Now that a week and a half has passed we became very tired, sometimes even dozing off. While we had a lot of fun we were still in need of activities that would awake and refresh us.

Then that day finally came...

Today we participated in several interesting games through the use of sports. When we first heard about it we thought it was going to be boring, because only men participate in sports. However, it was beyond our expectations; there were a lot of games through sports that girls can also enjoy.

The first game was called "connecting shoes". To be brief, we had to make a line as long as possible using our shoes; therefore, we had to take off our shoes and tied our shoe laces to make it. After the referee blew the whistle all the team members focused on tying their shoe laces together. While all the teams did their best Team Canada was the winner of this first game.

The second game was basketball but it was a little different from what we expected. We needed two boys and two girls to play this game. The rule was that three of them had to be shooters while one had to be the rebounder. After the shooters shoot the ball the rebounder had to catch the ball and give it back to the shooters. It was really difficult to shoot because we had different types of balls. The winner of this game was U.S.A., because they had a special strategy.

The third game was soccer. Each team made a line and took turns kicking the balls; however, the ball was not a soccer ball but a rugby ball, making it hard to score. Everyone had a chance to score including professors and TAs. Again, U.S.A. won.

After soccer we thought the games were done but there was one more game to get extra points. Before we gathered in the gym the TAs had already hid pieces of paper that counted as one point. Everyone got excited and began to run around to find the paper.

U.S.A. was the final winner but everyone did their best; therefore, everyone was a winner. All the team members became more intimate with each other and learned teamwork through team competitions. From this, we were able to gain something more valuable than scores. Now, we are in the middle of our camp and still have big projects to do, such as the pop song contest and the team drama.

If you want to make a memorable recollection of GEO it's up to you! Let's give our best shot - that will create lasting memories. We're really dying to see what is going to happen in GEO!!!!
