The Homely Atmosphere of Class 2-1

The 2-1 class has a homely atmosphere. The members are Jinduck (who is like the father), Hyedam, Yujung, Sohee, Hyeyoun, Sunyoung, Hyunhwa, Yongwon, Hongkyu, Yujin, and I. Actually, in the beginning, I felt ashamed because I had a terrible ability in English, but I became relaxed when I attended the class. Prof. Tom and Jerry (just like the cartoon characters!) taught English kindly to our class. During the four weeks of our stay here, Class 2-1 will be having Listening Lab every Monday around lunch time. We are very hungry at 12 p.m. :( Fortunately, Listening Lab class is only once a week. We found ourselves chasing the cheese or the academic grade. Fighting!!!

Class 2-1 listens to a morning class with Professor Jerry. We have 11class members and the TA is Jinju. Morning class begins at 9am, so I'm sleepy. But our class always plays games; the games are various and are beneficial. It is very important to enjoy studying. One time in class we study the textbook. Sometimes we go to the OBF cafe and spend time there with board games, or watch English movies. The students and teachers get to know each other more. I feel good and expect more for next time.

Our afternoon class is Tom's class, a very very interesting class. So we always look forward to afternoon class. During the first week, we learned about how to express our feelings in various situations. I memorized various expressing methods. Particularly, I remember the following sentences. For example, when we show total agreement we can say, "We see eye to eye on this." When we respond to something outrageous or really surprising we can say, "Get out of here!!!"

While making hand gestures, we memorized these sentences. The situation was soooooooo funny that all of us laughed at that time. To make the activity easier, he grouped us by pairs, and each of us talked to our partners, using these sentences. We made various situations, and after that, we practiced these sentences. That time, I thought I can use these sentences at real situations.

Second hour is quiz time! Tom divided us into 4 groups and told us to solve the quiz. Then we became tense! During this time, I felt I went to war, because the winner can get point cards but the losers have to dance. When the losers danced, every TA came to our class. I felt ashamed!

During the second week, we had individual presentation time. The topic is "Your favorite movie." The individual presentation time was a big help to everyone. GEO made the best use of my summer time. I am looking forward to next week!
