A night full of energy and wonderful chorus of songs....

(July 16, 2010) At the Conference Hall of the International Hub of CUK - one of the most awaited night for the GEO students where their nights of hard work and long practices will be laid out to the stage.  It was a night full of energy and wonderful chorus of songs as the five GEO teams gear up for the ultimate showdown to win the crown as the Best Pop Song Presenters.

These presentations were judged by three people who have proven themselves to excel in the field of music.  First judge was Hani, a Filipino TA, who won the Most Popular Award in the recent Pop Song Contest at the OBF.  Second was Stephanie, a GEO TA, who was also a participant of the OBF Pop Song Contest.  The third judge, Sehun, is a music major student in CUK and a former GEO TA from the very first GEO Summer Camp.

The competition started off with team New Zealand with their own version of Disney's "A Whole New World" and ABBA's "Dancing Queen".

The Australians followed their presentation with their interpretation of West Life's "Flying without Wings" and dance number with "Hey Mickey".

The third presenter was USA who presented a variety of performance, medley, and rap; and performed a soundtrack of Hair Spray.

The fourth presenter, Team Canada, gave their own rendition of "Way Back into Love" and "She's Gone".

Ireland was the last presenter who sang the song "Honey Honey" and "Upside Down".

And at the end of the night, Team Ireland brought home the beacon of victory.  They placed first on both the judge's scorecard and student votes.  The second placers were Team Canada and Team Australia.  The third place went to Team USA and Team New Zealand.  All in all, it was a fun and wonderful night filled with music and laughter.  The students' faces reflected the satisfaction they got after the hard work and effort they have given to prepare their presentations.
