For the first time, O.B.F. staff formally met the GEO 8 English Clinic Teaching Assistants (TAs) in a get together in Global Lounge held last September 17. O.B.F. Master Sue and Jen headed the meeting. The objective of the event was for the two groups to get to know the persons involved in the other group - the O.B.F. staff to get to know the new Filipino Teaching Assistants (FTAs) and vice versa.
O.B.F. staff are the ones in charge of the O.B.F café in the Global Lounge. O.B.F. Café is an English Coffee Shop run by students of the Catholic University. O.B.F. means: Of the students. By the students. For the students. The FTAs, on the other hand, are the conversationalists who the GEO 8 students talk to and consult with.
During the event, the two groups were given time to mingle with each other. All the staff and teaching assistants expressed their excitement to work for GEO 8. Both groups were also looking forward to form lifelong friendships with their newfound companions. The event helped staff and teaching assistants alike to build rapport and bond with each other. This is a great beginning for the two groups. After all, they will work together for GEO 8 for the whole fall semester of school year 2010.
