The Job Interview Club

One of the most vital concerns of Korean university students is getting a job after they graduate.

Getting a good job is not easy. For one, the hiring officers know absolutely nothing about the university graduate applying for a job. It is up to the graduate to introduce him/herself to these officers, initially, through their resumes and later on, during the actual job interview.

Many students have trouble preparing their resumes and in the interview itself. Thus, many GEO participants were quite glad that during the 2nd Winter Camp, there was a club organized to solve this serious problem.

Professor Peter Kim was in charge of this club during the Winter GEO program. He gave the students helpful tips in terms of writing their resumes. He told them to highlight in their resumes the skills ---i.e. speaking, presentation, organization, etc.--- they developed through their experiences in the university.

Professor Peter also conducted mock interviews with the students, pointing out how bearing is important as well as clarity of speech and presentation of ideas. He also reiterated that the applicants should be relaxed during the interview and reminded them to always look at the interviewer when speaking.

All in all, the Job Interview Club was a great success.
