The English Presentation Contest is a primary component in GEO curriculum. Aside from the fact that it is a great venue to encourage English learning, it is a great way for students to boost their confidence in speaking in front of the public as well. Students render speeches and presentations about various topics in front of their classmates first. Afterwards, the respective winners represent their classes in the finals. It is a great way for students to be more accustomed to a wide variety of people. Moreover, it is a great chance for the audience to enjoy and learn new insights from the presentations.
This wonderful tradition has been continued. This summer of 2012, GEO 18 brings back the much awaited English Presentation Contest. The GEO 18 English Presentation Contest Finals was held last July 19 and 20 at the International Hub Conference Room (IH267). GEO 18 students were present to witness the presentations. The topics were controversial and surely after the presentations, we learned a lot about the viewpoints of Korean students about these recent issues.
Topics were as follows:
Levels 1 &2: How to be the BEST you can be?
Level 3: How can we make GEO a truly globalized program?
Levels 4, 5: Multiculturalism in Korea: For better or worse?
Check out the pictures below to see what transpired during the event.
