7th Day Travel Diary
Today, we went to see the Statue of Liberty. We
took a ferry to get to the island where the statue is located. Unfortunately,
since it was foggy we could not see the statue well. We learned that France
gave this statue to America to celebrate its 100th independence day.
We had lunch and went to the souvenir shop. Some of us ordered Beast Burger and
it was really big to eat all by one person.
We headed to Columbia
University but the weather was really bad and the traffic was horrible. So we
arrived late. During the tour of the Columbia University it kept raining. We
saw Rodin’s bronze statue which is one of thirteen
original statues. The buildings were classical and beautiful. The guides were
kind and they explained details.
After the Columbia
University visit was competed, we took the subway to the Time Square. We hung
out groups and did our missions. We went to many stores and could feel the
atmosphere. Also, we bought street food ‘empanadas’. In the square, there were people who dressed in customs of the
Statue of Liberty and famous animation characters. One of the Statue of Liberty
guy waved his hand to allure us. He handed the torch and hair band to us and we
took some pictures. However, when we finished taking photos, he forced us to
pay 5 dollars for each person. We felt that we were being robbed.
We went back to our
center and we were exhausted. Sadly our trip in America is almost over. Tomorrow
is our last day in America.
