When we heard about the group presentation, we felt some anxiety and confusion. “What should we do?” we thought to ourselves. “How much time do we need to complete this project?”
This project was pretty difficult for us. We spent a lot of time thinking about it, but we weren’t coming up with any ideas. We decided to meet Jammy, our class TA. He advised us to look over the GEO blog. After visiting the blog, we saw some articles that gave us an idea.
Team New Zealand brainstorming for the presentation contest
Our group decided that our subject would be “Describe your life in GEO to someone who is not attending GEO.” We had some difficulty in organizing all the different elements of the GEO camp into a short presentation. Our professor, Jerry, gave us some advice. Jerry told us that a story has a structure – an introduction, a body, and a conclusion. We wrote out a story about our topic. After finishing it, we asked Jerry to correct our presentation script. Jerry helped us make revisions, and with his help we finished our assignment.

Later, we took some pictures which were related to our presentation. We made a Powerpoint presentation using the photos that we took. After finishing the script and PPT, we did a rehearsal. We practiced doing our presentation in class, in front of Jerry.
It was not easy to do a presentation in front of our friends. We felt nervous. However, when we finished our presentation, we felt happy because we accomplished our assignment. It was a good experience to make a group presentation in English.
