Superb Sports Night!

A big HURRAAAHH! to the teams who participated in this year’s GEO Winter Camp Sports Night! It was a night where all students had an opportunity to channel their competitive energies into 3 main events: The Basketball Shooting Game, Catch-the-Tail and the Basketball Relay. But of course team competitions wouldn’t be complete without some team cheers right? So before the games began, all teams performed their respective cheers – singing, dancing and trying to outdo one another. Anyone remember Shanti Shanti Go Go India? J how about Belize Navidad? The fun just spread like wildfire when the games started.

All three events were enjoyable and exciting but perhaps the most memorable is Catch-the-Tail. All teams were so competitive and eager to win! A lot of times, the students pushed and pulled and gave all their strength to win the game. During the Basketball Relay game the professors and their TAs also joined their team members as participants. All students, professors and TAs ran and carried the basketball without using their hands, from one side of the half-court to another. How did they do this?! Well, each one had their own strategy. All in all, the Sports Night proved to be a good break from the usual class lectures and team meetings. For sure, the teams felt re-energized and pumped-up, ready to participate in the coming team competitions. See you next Sports Night! J
