Actually, I arrived in the cheese and wine party a little bit late, but am glad that I didn’t miss a lot of activity. I did not know anybody except Professor Jerry and TA Cris. Luckily, I caught their attention when I arrived at the global lounge, so I mingled with them. A TA gave me my mission card. Before starting my mission, I ate first. The food they served were tasty and delicious. I liked the grapes and the crackers topped with tuna… Yummy! Sad to say I was not able to drink a glass of wine =( so I cannot comment about how the wine tastes like.
Delicious Food to watch out for... ^_^
Anyway right after eating, I started looking around to accomplish my mission. Searching for the people in my mission card was fun because I met and talked to people I do not know before. As I told you earlier, I only know my professor and my TA. I met TA Glenn. He was the first person in my mission card. He was kind. He was one of the foreigners in the party that I talked to and after talking to him, he finally signed my card. The next thing I want to comment on is the lighting in the global lounge. At that time, the lights were dim. There were also candles that made the global lounge soft looking. Compared to an ordinary day, one might feel quite differently. I also like the tarpaulin hung in front of the “main stage”. I saw some students and TAs striking a pose and taking pictures there. It was like a red carpet event in Hollywood wherein actors stand with a beautiful backdrop behind them. It was elegant.
The GEO Cheese & Wine Party Photobooth
Since I was the only student in my class who attended the cheese and wine party, I interviewed my classmates and asked the question, “What are your expectations in the cheese and wine party?” A lot of them expects to drink a good tasting wine and eat delectable variety of cheese. Sook Young specifically hopes to drink a sweet glass of wine, eat diverse food, and speak to many people, including other GEO students. In addition, she hopes that her Chinese and Japanese friends will be there too. Song-Eun wants to listen to music and dance with her newfound friends in GEO. Ji-Won anticipates that TA Minjae will play the saxophone again. She also wants to meet Sarah one of the Korean TAs, take a picture with her, and ask her about her weekend plans.
I think that my classmates are all excited to attend and experience the cheese and wine party. They all have their expectations. I guarantee that they will enjoy the party. As for myself, I want to attend the cheese and wine party again next week to meet more GEO students, meet a lot foreigners TAs and professors, and lastly to drink a glass of wine ^^ See you there!
