Who will win the much coveted GEO16 cup?

To strengthen the English ability of freshmen students and acquaint them to an internationalized English learning environment, the Catholic University of Korea (CUK) created a special Global English Outreach Program in CUK Songsim Campus from February 6 to 17. The two week on campus camp aims to create diverse English learning opportunities for the incoming freshmen of the university.

The camp which has been running on its fourth year now has been well received by the students. Past enrollees included CUK students, seminarians, outsiders, high school students, professionals, to name a few. All the courses and activities covered in the camp were targeted to offer the participants opportunities to learn practical English usage, as well as to experience various cultures of different countries. More importantly, it aims to build self confidence of each individual who joined the camp. Through the different lineup of activities, it aims to encourage the students to exert their creativity, brainstorm, and enhance their skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing in English. Moreover, aside from boosting their competitiveness, the students could also learn to respect each other. They can also learn from their peers and develop a global view in an English environment.

And what better way to learn from peers? In order to maximize this English camp experience, GEO16 organizers lined up a series of activities for the team competitions. These are the Speed quiz, Treasure hunt, Sports night and Game show night. From these series of activities, students can learn the values of teamwork, hard work, solidarity and unity, among others.

And wait, there's more...

An added bonus is that by the end of the camp, one team will be awarded with the much coveted GEO Cup and be declared as the champion of GEO 16.
