Dexterity, Knowledge, and Luck: The Key Points to win the Game Show!

Last Friday, we participated in Z League’s game night. There are four teams in Z League: Botswana, Samoa, Ireland, and the Philippines. We played three different games.

The competitive Team Botswana

The first game was Guess the Number. The rule of this game was easy. When the question appeared on the screen, each team discussed to find the answer together. And the leader wrote down the answer on paper. Then the runner of the team ran and sat down on a chair. When all runners sat down on their chairs, the answer was revealed. The team which wrote down the closest answer was the winner of the round, and the winner got one point. This game was composed of ten questions. For example, some questions were “How many bones are in the human body?” and “How many people were killed by piranhas?”

The second was the Running Game. The rule of this game is: First, all members see the question on the screen at the opposite side of the room. Second, all members discuss the answer and choose an answer card like A, B, C, or D. Third, a runner runs towards the screen and sits down on a chair with the answer card. Fourth, the MC checks the order of how fast the runners sat down. Finally, the MC announces the answer and divides the points to the correct team. If each team says the correct answer, the first team could get four points, second could get three points, third two points, and last gets one point. There is on average, 15 members per team. Each team has one runner and the others discuss the question. The key point of this game is dexterity, knowledge, and luck. This game is funny, but sometimes very tiring to us because each question allows us only ten to thirty seconds.

Get ready to RUN!!!

The last game was the Golden Bell. Golden Bell is a kind of quiz where people answer all kinds of questions. If a person gets a wrong answer, he will be eliminated. If a person gets a correct answer, he stays in the game. There were twelve members in each team. The team with the most members left win. The winning team gets 200 points.

Students raise their answers in the final round of the Game Show

The final winner was the Philippines and Samoa came in second. Congratulations!
