BFA's Insights - Part 5

During the past few posts, we heard from our Buddies from Abroad from United States of America, Taiwan and United Kingdom. They shared about their first week in CUK - the activities they had, their interactions with GEO students, the feelings they had during the initiation of the program, and a whole lot more. This time around we have another friend from Taiwan who wants to share her expectations about the program.

Read on to know more about what Grace expects of the Buddy from Abroad (BFA) program.

Hi everybody! My name is Grace, and I am here in Korea because I’m attending the Global Summer School in Catholic University of Korea (CUK). Apart from attending the Global Summer School, I am part of the “Buddy From Abroad” program of GEO. Of course, I’m also here to have fun. This is the first time I’ve traveled alone. My mom never let me have sleepovers or go on more-than-one-day-trips even in my own country. So I really thank my parents for letting me come to Korea by myself. I am also very thankful for the person who told me about this program. I have been very excited about this trip to Korea, and I hope it will meet my expectations.

I hope that I will learn a lot here, including the language Korean, the culture, business and economics of Korea, living experiences, etc. Besides that, I’m also looking forward to having local experiences and culture exchanges with Koreans and other international students. I want to broaden my horizon so I could be closer to my dream. Moreover, I hope to be good friends with everybody in the CUK summer school. I also hope that I could do a great job, being a BFA and that all the students in the GEO program can improve in their English. Last but not least, I hope that everyone here can have a great time!

I have been in Korea for a week already, and I found that everyone, even the people outside of school, is so friendly and kind. Except for the spicy food which I’m not used to yet, I love everything here. Time is just running so fast that I hope it can slow down a little. For the rest of the weeks, I will be happy, make others happy, and cherish every moment here in Korea!
