The Darts Club

By Choi You Jin, Lee Bo Han, Choi Ji Won, and Choi Kyeong Hwan (Class 2-3)

During the GEO 22 Winter Camp, we joined the Darts club. When we first heard about the Darts Club, we had no exact idea about it and how to play it since we didn’t have an accurate knowledge of Darts. We joined the club just because it seemed interesting.

And after meeting our good professor and TA for the club, we became more curious and searched information on Darts by ourselves. Our professor and TA explained Darts to us easily and in an exciting and fun way. During the club sessions, Prof. Nigel and TA Pukar kindly taught us how to play darts, from grip and stance to various dart games.

Above all, the most impressive game was cricket, because our team won the highest score in class. At first, we threw darts carefully, but they won’t ‘fly’ well. Although we got worried of our own stances and power controls, we remained confident because our other friends were in the same situation too as we observed. But while our friends struggled to throw well, their skills also showed a steep upturn.

We thought darts is just about throwing darts, but there are many things to be aware of it like standing, the division of your energy, and many kinds of games. It’s a very delicate sports. Although Darts is a game that can be played alone, it is also fun if you are playing with other people.

Darts Club is one of the many unforgettable activities in the GEO program but sadly, we only had a short time to play it.  If we have a chance after GEO, we wish we can still learn many things about darts. As we go back to our respective homes, we will buy a Darts board and play it with the whole family.
