GEO and Colloquium

How did you feel about the Colloquium(1)? What is one thing the speaker said that you enjoyed?
Class 4-3

The 13th Stephen Cardinal Kim Global Leadership Colloquium of the Catholic University of Korea was held last May 2, 2013 at the International Hub Conference Hall with the theme: Thinking outside the Shoe. The guest speaker was Ms. Jessica Cox, a motivational speaker who was born without arms but has achieved a lot and lives a normal life.

Personally, this colloquium really impressed me more than any speeches in the past. Previous speeches were also good and impressive but as a novice in the society, student, who didn't achieve much yet, I cannot really relate to them that I feel a little bit awkward. Because they were already successful in their life and then they told us what they do in their profession. I wonder how they get it and was there any problems to get there. However, Ms. Jessica Cox is different. She told us how she achieved what she wanted before, even though she has no arms. She told us that no arms could make me stop following our dreams. She showed us we could do all things even without arms. Without her arms she must have her own willingness. By her speech I can feel that we can do all of the things and I felt close to her.

Actually her speech was really interesting. Especially, when she showed us her individual situations, those were really great. Because I thought what she does as a pilot is really great and unbelievable too, but her routine, very tiny things are really hard for her. So I wonder how she does those tiny things like, putting on clothes, eating and even opening juice bottles. It was really amazing when she showed us how to open a soda can. So all the people who were there gave her a big hand. So that was the most amazing and enjoyable part of her speech.
