GEO Excellence Award Article II

Travel Diary
17 DEC 14

In the morning, we got a wake-up call from the front desk. After, we ate breakfast of waffle and coffee. Then, we rode the Baymont hotel shuttle bus from hotel to the Delta airport. Next, we got into the airplane safely, but because of the snow, our flight was delayed for almost an hour. We had to wait for the grounds crew to clear the run way. But, our plane successfully took off and we all enjoyed the view of the sky. Finally, we arrived at New York LaGuardia airport and teacher Peter waited for us and took us to the training institute

There we met the teachers and ate pizza for lunch. Then we took our first class. In the class, first we wrote short paper with the topic ‘If a foreign visitor have 1 day to spend in Korea, which place you would recommend?’ After the writing class, teacher Ken and we discussed about the writer Mark Twain, author of ‘The Adventures of the Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn’. We learned about his works and personal life.

Furthermore, after the class, with teacher Darlyne and Ken, they took us to the Target Supermarket which is similar to the Wall Mart. We were really surprised with how gigantic the place was and items were inexpensive. For instance, the price of cosmetics was cheaper than Korea. After shopping, we got back to the training institute and had a very delicious Korean dinner. Finally, we had a meeting about the team missions.

We really liked our rooms and now we are going to fall asleep.
