Travel Diary

Wow!!! D-day!!!! We are in America!!!! It is the first time for all of our group members to visit America. So we were very excited. Actually we had a hard time, the flight was 12 hours long, but we spend our time watching movies and listening to music. When we saw the scenery from the plane, we felt it was very gorgeous and enormous. The scenery was awesome similar to a scene from a movie. Furthermore, we notice the different arrangement of city planning between Korea and America. For example, Korean cities there are lots of apartments, but in American cities there are rows of houses.
When the plane landed, we arrived in the Detroit airport and we started to realize "we are in America" when we saw a lot of foreigners. Next, in the airport, we tried to order some coffee in the Starbucks, but we had trouble conversing with the clerk. However we were successful in the end.
Unfortunately, there was a big problem in our connecting flight to New York .The plane was over booked and there were no available seats for us to go to New York. So we had to stay a overnight in Detroit and leave the next day to New York. Therefore, the airline offered us a hotel and financial compensation. We were really angry at them because of their attitude. Even though it was their fault, the service was terrible and they were impolite. At the end, they offered us compensation for the trouble but we were not satisfied.
Finally, were exhausted and arrived at the hotel. Then we ordered pizza, ribs, shrimps, and so on. But, it was salty and greasy. It was not Korean style.
Our schedule start tomorrow and we are looking forward to it. We are sure that we will have a great time in America.
